Alex Proyas is one of those filmakers that can inject actual creativity and his own unique ideas in his movies without tarnishing their commercial appeal. Of course not every director can churn out only gems, as "Gods of Egypt" demonstrated with it's lackluster release. It feels as if I'm the only fan of that extraordinary and misunderstood film.
For those familiar with Flat Earth and the Alex Proyas film "Dark City", the connection between the two should be clear, intentional or not. Its about a man who wakes up with amnesia and finds himself in a strange city that is permanently dark. The big flat earth clue here is when he discovers that this city is actually an enclosed habitat. A flat plane more specifically. "Gods of Egypt" interestingly enough takes places on a very similar looking Flat Earth plane. The part I love is how he makes no effort to conceal these images. They are right in the open.
Other flat earth images in his films include FE maps in "I, Robot" as well as "Gods of Egypt". I am no expert on the mans films, and this is not an in-depth analysis of the mans work. But it's clear that at the very least the man has an active interest in the FE conspiracy.
I'm sure like many others my first conclusion was that Alex Proyas has knowledge of the Flat Earth truth. A successful filmmaker of big budget blockbusters, he must be part of the elite, right? Evidence shows that it is a definite possibility.
Now what has led me to pointing these things out was a post he wrote on Facebook back when "Gods of Egypt" was just released theatrically. He wrote that the film was pushing 130 million "across the flat earth". It made news at the time, and Flat Earthers zeroed in on him immediately.
Whether or not Alex Proyas has knowledge of the Earth's true shape, my hope is that he continues to push the Flat Earth. But making science-fiction films isn't going to make a big difference unfortunately because, well, they're fictional movies. And considering his last film was a financial failure, backing a concept such as the Flat Earth is the last thing his career needs.
But I could be wrong and he could be mocking us truth seekers. Most of Hollywood is part of the secret society running this world and hiding the truth. The fact that he makes big budget mainstream films with some of the biggest movies stars would lead many to the conclude that he is part of the Hollywood Illuminati. It may be true that Hollywood is run mainly by the secret Elite, but not every successful director or actor is. If Alex Proyas was Illuminati with knowledge of the Earths true Flat shape, would he be allowed to get away with putting Flat Earth hints in his films? Would he refer to the earth as flat in an online post and get away with it? Perhaps, but you really can't say for certain. One thing I find interesting is that since his last film and his Flat Earth comment, there has been no updates on upcoming projects.
My feeling is that he is leaving hints because he can't publicly share his knowledge. This could be to keep his career, or perhaps his life. Let's hope that he continues to drop these hints.
